iOS 27: Apple Wallet adding new ‘Create a Pass’ feature, per report

iOS 27 is rumored to include a useful new feature for the Wallet app. A recent report says iOS 27 will add a “Create a Pass” feature, allowing users to convert physical passes to digital ones.
Create a Pass feature
How it works
According to a report from Bloomberg, the feature will let users take a QR code and generate a custom pass around it. This is aimed at situations where, for example, a gym or concert app provides a QR code for entry but doesn’t support the Wallet app. Users can import that code and create their own pass.
The new tool will be accessible via the “+” button in the Wallet app, in the same menu where you currently add new credit cards.
Customization options
The feature includes multiple customization tools:
- Different templates
- Colors, images, icons
- Text fields and other styling options
Users can create a pass from scratch or rely on the iPhone’s camera to scan a QR code and turn it into a digital ticket. The customization tools let users tailor the information displayed on each pass.
Templates
Apple is testing three template options:
- Standard (orange) – a default option for any type of pass
- Membership (blue) – geared toward entry passes for places like gyms
- Event (purple) – intended for tickets to games, movies, and other occasions
iOS 27 is expected to be announced at WWDC, which kicks off on June 8.
