iOS 26.6 beta 1 arrived today, and with iOS 27 right around the corner, it’s unsurprisingly very light on changes. One difference was discovered by Aaron Perris: a new alert that appears in iOS 26.6 when you try to block one contact too many.

Apple doesn’t publicize this information, but iOS quietly enforces a limit on how many contacts you can add to your “blocked” list. Though most users will never hit that limit, iOS 26.6 now shows an alert for those who do.

New “Blocked Contacts Limit Reached” Alert

Blocked Contacts Limit Reached
You’ve reached the maximum number of blocked contacts. To block additional callers, remove a blocked contact in Settings.

The popup was uncovered by Perris while reviewing the updated code Apple shipped in iOS 26.6 developer beta 1. He shared a screenshot of the alert on Twitter:

New in iOS 26.6 beta 1:
You will now receive an alert if you reach the max amount of contacts blocked.
Blocked Contacts Limit Reached:
You’ve reached the maximum number of blocked contacts. To block additional callers, remove a blocked contact in Settings.

This is an extremely minor change, notable only because it represents a new user‑facing update in an otherwise unchanged iOS 26.6 release.
