I tried Lenovo’s wild modular ThinkBook at MWC, and now my laptop feels outdated

Overview
Lenovo has a long-standing habit of unveiling eye‑catching laptop concepts at the Mobile World Congress (MWC). While many of these concepts feel like futuristic showpieces, the ThinkBook Modular AI PC presented at MWC 2026 feels surprisingly practical—something you could actually use in everyday work.
Design
From the front, the ThinkBook Modular AI PC looks like a typical 14‑inch touchscreen business laptop: thin, clean, and professional. The real innovation appears on the rear lid, where a second 14‑inch display is attached via pogo pins. The secondary screen sits flush and is almost invisible until you notice it.
Rear Display
- Detachable & Magnetic – The back screen can be removed and used as a portable display with a kickstand.
- Orientation Flexibility – It can be mounted vertically or horizontally, though it requires power from a separate pogo‑pin adapter.
