Apple has lightly refreshed its MacBook Air with the M5 chip, and it’s available for preorder from March 4 ahead of its formal launch on March 11.

The M5 MacBook Air comes in 13‑ and 15‑inch sizes, with starting prices of $1,099 and $1,299, respectively. Those numbers dip to $999 and $1,199 with Apple’s education discount.

  • Base storage: 512 GB (the 256 GB option is no longer available)
  • Maximum storage: 4 TB (up from a 2 TB limit on the M4 models)
  • Education discount: $999 (13‑inch) / $1,199 (15‑inch)

The base M5 MacBook Airs are $100 cheaper than the previous‑generation M4 models with the same 512 GB SSD, offering better value.
