How to preorder the new Apple M5 MacBook Air — preorders live now

Apple has lightly refreshed its MacBook Air with the M5 chip, and it’s available for preorder from March 4 ahead of its formal launch on March 11.
The M5 MacBook Air comes in 13‑ and 15‑inch sizes, with starting prices of $1,099 and $1,299, respectively. Those numbers dip to $999 and $1,199 with Apple’s education discount.

- Base storage: 512 GB (the 256 GB option is no longer available)
- Maximum storage: 4 TB (up from a 2 TB limit on the M4 models)

The base M5 MacBook Airs are $100 cheaper than the previous‑generation M4 models with the same 512 GB SSD, offering better value.

Aside from the upgraded chip and storage options, the only other change is the connectivity bump to Wi‑Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6; otherwise, the design remains the same as the M4 MacBook Airs.
