HBO Max’s password‑sharing crackdown is set to expand globally. During an earnings call on Thursday, Warner Bros. Discovery streaming head JB Perrette said the global rollout will begin in 2026, as reported earlier by The Wrap.
Warner Bros. Discovery has intensified its paid‑sharing initiative in the United States over the past year, introducing more aggressive prompts in August that encourage users to pay an additional $7.99 per month to add another user to their account. With HBO Max now available in several European countries and Latin America, and rollouts planned for the UK, Ireland, and the Asia‑Pacific region, the streamer is likely positioning the policy for a broader international audience.
