Hauler Hero has picked up fresh funds as demand for its AI‑powered waste‑management software continues to grow.

The New York‑based startup raised $16 million in a Series A round led by Frontier Growth, with participation from I2BF Global Ventures, K5 Global, Somersault Ventures, and others. To date, Hauler Hero has raised more than $27 million in venture capital.

Funding and Growth

  • Series A: $16 M (led by Frontier Growth)
  • Total VC: > $27 M
  • The company has doubled its headcount, revenue, and customer base since announcing its seed round in late 2024.
  • It reports having facilitated 35 million trash pickups since its inception in 2020.

Product Overview

Hauler Hero offers an all‑in‑one software platform for waste‑management companies, covering:

  • Customer relationship management (CRM)
  • Billing and invoicing
  • Routing and fleet optimization

A notable recent addition captures images from third‑party cameras on garbage trucks and sends them to a central command center. This visual data helps companies:

  • Confirm pickups
  • Verify billing
  • Monitor distributed fleets

The feature also addresses union concerns: footage is not used for disciplinary actions and can reduce driver liability in accidents or missed‑pickup accusations.

AI Agents

Hauler Hero is developing a trio of AI agents:

  • Hero Vision: Automatically identifies service issues and revenue opportunities.
  • Hero Chat: A chatbot for handling customer inquiries.
  • Hero Route: Uses route data to dynamically adjust routes for greater efficiency.

“There’s an enormous amount of data in our system about pickups, work orders, billing information… you can just tell the agents to build a chart,” said CEO Mark Hoadley.

The company plans to use part of the new funding to commercialize these agents and expand offerings for municipal customers.

Market Context

Two main competitors, Routeware and Wastech, merged in 2024, leaving government entities with limited provider options. This consolidation has opened opportunities for Hauler Hero to serve municipalities seeking alternatives.

Future Plans

Hauler Hero aims to fine‑tune and scale its platform while exploring additional features. The leadership emphasizes a long‑term vision:

“We’re going to continue to chart the course for the next decade of being at the cutting edge of delivering value for customers, leveraging all the latest tools.”
