Overview
French AA gaming developer and accessory manufacturer Nacon has filed for insolvency after its majority shareholder, Bigben, failed to make a loan repayment, according to a company press release. The release stated that “available assets do not allow it to meet its liabilities.” The insolvency filing aims to enable continued operation, protect employees, and maintain jobs while renegotiating with creditors.
Games
- Styx: Blades of Greed – developed by Nacon.
- Terminator: Survivors – was set to be published by Nacon before being delayed.
- Hell is Us – published last year and received some praise.
- Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown – launched with bugs and failed to attract a sizable audience.
Nacon plans to stream its next Nacon Connect presentation on March 4, where it is expected to showcase new games and footage for previously announced titles such as Endurance Motorsport Series and Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss.
Hardware
Nacon also produces hardware, including controllers, headsets, and racing‑sim accessories under its Revosim brand. While these products never achieved mainstream popularity, they found some success among professional gamers.
Insolvency Proceedings
- A court will review Nacon’s insolvency request at a hearing in early March.
- Trading of Nacon’s shares has been suspended pending the outcome.
Future Outlook
With the insolvency filing, the future of Nacon’s games and hardware accessories is uncertain. Stakeholders will be watching the court’s decision to see how the company’s operations and product lines will be affected.
