Galaxy Z Fold Wide

Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold “Wide” has been mentioned in earlier leaks, and recent One UI 9 screenshots provide additional evidence that the company is working on a more substantial foldable without adding extra hinges.

One UI 9 Screenshots

Leaked One UI 9 screenshots were shared via SamMobile, which notes the images were captured from firmware for the Galaxy Z Fold “Wide” model (SM‑F971B). This firmware runs on the unreleased One UI 9, expected to debut alongside the new foldables.

The images show a very basic layout, likely presented in the settings menu as Samsung does with its tutorial pages. In the screenshot, the home screen appears to use a 4:3 aspect ratio—much wider than the nearly 1:1 design of the Galaxy Z Fold 7.

Dimensions and Design

The device is not as wide as the Galaxy Z TriFold, but it approaches that size without requiring additional hardware or points of failure. Previous leaks note the phone will fit within a 123.9 × 161.4 × 4.9 mm profile, roughly 34 mm shorter than the expected dimensions of the Galaxy Z Fold 8, while being about 18.2 mm wider.

Market Position

The wider design places the Galaxy Z Fold “Wide” in the same category as the Google Pixel Fold and Oppo Find N2. Its short and stout form factor should be easier to handle daily compared to taller, more unwieldy foldables that have flooded the market. The trade‑off may be app scalability for those not optimized for larger displays.

There’s still no official word on Samsung’s next launch plans, but this could be the first time a model other than the standard Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip series is introduced.
