Potential New Galaxy S27 Pro Variant
The Samsung Galaxy S26 lineup was released a few months ago, and leaks about the upcoming Galaxy S27 are already emerging. Korean news outlet ET News (via PhoneArena) reports that Samsung is considering adding a fourth model to the S27 lineup.
For years, Samsung has launched three flagship Galaxy S phones each January or February: a base model, a Plus model, and an Ultra model. According to the ET News report, Samsung could introduce a Galaxy S27 Pro next year. This model would share many flagship features with the Ultra but would likely include compromises to lower the price.
The key detail from ET News is that the new, lower‑priced Pro would not include or support the S Pen, Samsung’s stylus that has become standard on Ultra phones. The Pro might also retain the Privacy Display feature that was a major selling point of the S26 Ultra.
Background on Samsung’s Flagship Lineup
As recently as last year, Samsung was reportedly planning to replace the S26 Plus with a thinner Edge model, inspired by the Galaxy S25 Edge. Poor Edge sales halted that plan, resulting in three S26 phones that were similar to the previous year’s lineup. While Samsung could attempt a similar strategy by swapping the S27 Plus for an S27 Ultra, the current report suggests that a four‑phone lineup—including the new Pro—will be the direction for next year.
Speculation on S27 Features
Details about the rest of the S27 lineup remain scarce. A previous leak (SamMobile) hinted that the S27 Ultra might feature an upgraded main rear camera sensor, though specifics were not disclosed. Other reasonable expectations include:
- Improved performance
- Longer battery life
- Enhanced AI capabilities
No firm information has been confirmed yet, and it may be some time before more concrete details emerge.
