One UI 8.5 Beta 4 Release Overview
One UI 8.5 is Samsung’s next major software release and will debut in its stable form with the upcoming Galaxy S26 series. In the meantime, Samsung is testing the beta on the Galaxy S25 series. After the first two betas in December and a third in January, the fourth beta is now rolling out to owners in South Korea, India, Germany, the UK, and the US.

The ZZAL build is approximately 1.48 GB and includes the February 5 2026 security patch.
Changelog and Bug Fixes
- Fixed an issue where the clock on the lock screen moved down.
- Fixed an issue when clicking search history in the Phone app.
- Resolved the problem where calls switched to the device under specific conditions while using a Bluetooth headset.
- Fixed an issue when pasting phone numbers into the keypad after clicking a call link.
- Fixed an issue where AI Select did not automatically close when “Copy” was selected.
Direct Voicemail Feature
The fourth beta introduces Direct Voicemail, allowing users to:
- Automatically route all calls to voicemail after a specified period.
- Manually send individual calls to voicemail.
All voicemails are accessible within the Samsung Phone app, and a live text transcript is displayed while the voicemail is being recorded.
The feature is reminiscent of iOS 17’s Live Voicemail, which records voicemail directly on the device and works independently of carriers. Samsung’s implementation should behave similarly.
It is not yet clear whether Direct Voicemail will be rolled out to additional regions, as it is not listed in the common changelog. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
