Why ATS Matters

When applying for jobs, it’s frustrating to have a solid resume but still get filtered out. Most companies use Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) to scan resumes for keywords pulled directly from the job description. If your resume doesn’t match closely enough, it never reaches a human.

Introducing the Free ATS Keyword Extractor

I built a small, free tool to make this step easier. The ATS Keyword Extractor takes a job description and extracts:

  • Core role keywords
  • Hard skills
  • Soft skills
  • Tools and platforms
  • Must‑have vs. nice‑to‑have requirements

It doesn’t rewrite your resume or apply automatically. Instead, it generates a structured prompt you can paste into ChatGPT and then customize the output for your own resume.

How to Use It

  1. Paste a job description into the tool.
  2. Click “Build prompt.”
  3. Paste the prompt into ChatGPT.
  4. Copy the keywords into your resume where relevant.

That’s it—no account required.
