FBI releases recovered footage from Nancy Guthrie’s Nest cam

More than a week after Nancy Guthrie disappeared, the FBI released footage captured by a Nest camera installed at Guthrie’s front door.
Footage released
The FBI made public two videos and several still images. In the first video, a masked individual carrying a backpack approaches the camera, holds a glove in front of the lens, and appears to touch something below the camera’s field of view.
Law‑enforcement comments
- FBI Director Kash Patel posted on X that law enforcement has been collaborating with “private sector partners,” and that the video was “recovered from residual data located in backend systems.”
Google response
- Google spokesperson Patrick Seybold told The Verge that the company is “assisting law enforcement with their investigations.”
