On Tuesday, Dec 9, I attended the 21st Data Intelligence Tokyo meetup, organized by Quollio. This edition was held at a new location, WeWork KDX Toranomon, which created a comfortable and focused atmosphere for discussion.

The main session was a lightning talk titled “Fighting Misinformation in the Age of AI”, presented by Syuzanna Khalatyan, an AI researcher and computer science student at Minerva University, specializing in machine learning and data‑driven systems.

Syuzanna explained how generative models can amplify false or misleading information—intentionally or unintentionally—and why this creates new challenges for trust, verification, and accountability. She shared practical perspectives on how data‑driven approaches and responsible AI design can help reduce the spread of misinformation.

What stood out was how clearly the topic was framed around real‑world impact, not just theory. The examples made it easy to understand why this issue matters not only for researchers, but also for developers and product teams working with AI systems.

Discussion Highlights

After the talk, the Q&A session became interactive. Participants asked thoughtful questions and shared their own experiences related to AI‑generated content, data reliability, and ethical considerations. These conversations deepened connections among attendees and made the meetup feel very collaborative.
