Cosmic Orange is the new black, as competitors copy the color

The Cosmic Orange color Apple offered for the iPhone 17 Pro proved hugely popular and was credited with helping the company hit record iPhone sales last year.

Copycat Phones at MWC

Competitors were paying close attention, with several Android manufacturers adopting a very similar tone for their latest smartphones. CNET noted the number of copycats spotted at this year’s Mobile World Congress.

Not one but several phone makers displayed handsets that were dead ringers for the iPhone 17 Pro Max—from size and button layout to rear‑camera arrangement—and, of course, they sport the unmistakable orange. The Hotwav A17 Pro Max even shamelessly copied the naming format, camera module layout, and two‑tone color.

Other Products Borrowing the Color

The trend isn’t limited to smartphones. Apple’s most popular color has also appeared in other product categories, such as the Anker Nano Charger with Smart Display.

Now that Apple has launched the MacBook Neo in new colors, we can doubtless expect those hues to be copied as well.
