The new Tappy remote from Boox.

Boox’s varied assortment of eye‑preserving e‑ink tablets and monitors have been gaining traction in recent years, and the company’s new accessory makes them even more appealing. The delightfully named Tappy is a wireless remote control designed for easy (note: not lazy) page‑turning and scrolling.

Design and Use

Tappy is intended for e‑readers, especially those that are propped up or mounted, where constantly reaching out to interact with the display can be annoying. The compact remote connects to Boox products and other supported Android devices via Bluetooth and can be placed in or under your hand for immediate access.

Modes

Tappy offers three modes that determine the function of its buttons:

  • Reading mode – page turning
  • Browsing mode – vertical scrolling
  • Listening mode – scrubbing forward or backward through audio

An indicator light shows which mode is active.

Specifications

  • Wireless range: up to 33 feet (≈10 m)
  • Battery: 95 mAh rechargeable via built‑in USB‑C port (full charge lasts weeks)
  • Colors: green and orange (includes two spare keycaps)

Availability and Pricing

Tappy is available to purchase now for $26.
