중고거래 플랫폼 중고나라(대표 최인욱)는 창사 이후 처음으로 2024년 1월 영업이익 기준 월간 손익분기점(BEP)을 달성했다고 11일 밝혔다. 같은 기간 안심결제 거래액과 거래 건수는 전년 동월 대비 각각 200 %, 270 % 증가하며 역대 최고치를 기록했다.

이번 성과는 지난해 하반기부터 시행한 **‘안심보장 프로젝트’**의 영향으로 분석된다. 중고나라는 앱·웹에 안심결제를 기본 적용해 이용자가 사기 우려 없이 거래할 수 있는 환경을 구축했다. 이에 따라 안심결제 비중이 확대되며 수수료 매출이 증가했고, 선입금 방식 사기 피해를 예방하는 효과도 나타났다고 회사 측은 설명했다.

중고나라는 수익성 중심의 체질 개선도 병행하고 있다. 올해 초 조직 개편과 사업구조 재정비를 단행해 고정비 절감·운영 프로세스 개선에 나섰으며, 이를 통해 거래 활성화와 손익 구조 안정성을 동시에 강화한다는 방침이다.

향후에는 대형 화물 배송을 포함한 맞춤형 물류 서비스와 전용 보증 상품 등 서비스 인프라를 확대하고, 안심결제 우회 거래를 최소화하기 위한 기술적 보호 체계도 고도화할 계획이다. 이를 통해 보다 안전하고 편리한 거래 환경을 조성하고 지속 가능한 성장 기반을 강화한다는 전략이다.

Joonggonara achieves its first monthly breakeven point since its founding, with secure‑payment transactions increasing 200 %

Joonggonara (CEO Choi In‑wook), a second‑hand goods trading platform, announced on the 11th that it achieved its monthly break‑even point (BEP) based on operating profit in January 2024 – the first time since the company’s founding. During the same period, the volume and number of Secure Payment transactions rose 200 % and 270 %, respectively, compared with the same month last year, setting all‑time highs.

The achievement is attributed to the “Safety Guarantee Project,” launched in the second half of 2023. Joonggonara made Secure Payment the default on both its app and website, creating an environment where users can trade without fear of fraud. The company explained that this expanded the share of Secure Payment transactions, boosted commission revenue, and helped prevent advance‑payment scams.

Joonggonara is also pursuing a profitability‑focused restructuring. Early this year it carried out organizational and business‑structure reforms to cut fixed costs and streamline operations. These measures are intended to simultaneously increase transaction volume and stabilise the profit‑loss structure.

Going forward, the firm plans to expand its service infrastructure, including customised logistics (e.g., large‑scale cargo delivery) and dedicated warranty products, while enhancing its technical protection system to minimise transactions that bypass Secure Payment. The goal is to create a safer, more convenient trading environment and to strengthen the foundation for sustainable growth.

この成果は、昨年下半期から実施した 「安心保障プロジェクト」 の効果と分析される。中古国はアプリとウェブで安心決済を標準適用し、利用者が詐欺の心配なく取引できる環境を構築した。これにより安心決済の比率が拡大し、手数料収入が増加、先入金方式詐欺の防止効果も現れたと同社は説明している。
