Overview

Ball x Pit, a roguelite that blended breakout‑style brick breaking with base‑building and elements from other genres, is heading to mobile devices. The game will launch on iOS and Android on March 12.

Gameplay

The core loop mixes the fast‑paced action of Breakout with the character‑growth of Vampire Survivors. Players choose a character, equip passive abilities, and fire balls at incoming enemies.

  • Baby balls – regular projectiles that deal damage on impact.
  • Special balls – infused with effects such as Lightning, Ghost, or Poison. These can be fused to combine effects or evolved into more powerful versions.

Synergy between characters, abilities, and ball types is key to surviving waves of enemies.

Mobile Release Details

  • Launch date: March 12, 2026 (iOS & Android)
  • Trial: Free, ad‑free trial available.
  • Full version: Unlockable with a single in‑app purchase, granting unlimited play.

Pre‑orders are open on the App Store and Google Play.

Progression

During each run, players collect blueprints and resources used to rebuild a fallen town. Reconstructed buildings unlock new characters and abilities, feeding back into future runs and deepening the synergy loop.

Controls

The game is optimized for touch screens. Players can enable automatic ball firing, focusing on:

  • Moving the character
  • Aiming
  • Selecting upgrades when enough experience gems are earned

Updates and Cross‑Platform

  • The first of three planned updates for 2026 arrived in January.
  • The developer, Kenny Sun, has been asked to add cross‑progression, as many players have already invested dozens of hours on PS5, PC, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and Switch 2.
  • Ball x Pit is also available on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.
