Autodesk’s “Flow” Platform

Autodesk introduced Flow in 2022 as a cloud‑based platform for filmmakers and other creators. The suite has expanded to include products such as Flow Studio, which leverages AI to transform live‑action footage into 3D scenes.

Google’s AI Video Generator

In May 2023, Google released an AI‑powered video generator named Flow. The tool is designed to help users create videos quickly by automating editing and visual effects.

The Lawsuit

Autodesk filed a lawsuit in a California court, alleging that Google’s use of the “Flow” name is likely to confuse customers with Autodesk’s existing AI‑enabled filmmaking tools. The complaint claims that Google’s naming infringes on Autodesk’s “Flow” trademark.
