Apple’s new Studio displays come with Thunderbolt 5

Apple on Tuesday announced a new MacBook Pro and MacBook Air, both powered by its latest chips, as well as a new family of displays. The lineup includes a $1,599 Studio Display and a $3,299 Studio Display XDR.
New Studio Display
- Screen: 27‑inch 5K Retina, 14 million pixels, 600 nits brightness, P3 wide‑gamut color.
- Camera: 12 MP Center Stage camera with improved image quality.
- Desk View: Shows your face and an overhead view of your desk simultaneously.
- Audio: Three‑microphone array and six‑speaker system with Spatial Audio; 30 % deeper bass than the previous generation.
- Connectivity: Thunderbolt 5 ports (includes a Thunderbolt 5 Pro cable) allowing daisy‑chaining of up to four displays.
- Stand: Tilt‑adjustable.
- Glass Options: Standard or nano‑texture glass.

Studio Display XDR
- Screen: 27‑inch 5K Retina XDR (5120×2880) mini‑LED, >2,000 local dimming zones.
- Brightness: up to 1,000 nits SDR, 2,000 nits peak HDR.
- Contrast: 1,000,000:1.
- Color: Adobe RGB support.
- Refresh Rate: 120 Hz with Adaptive Sync.
- Medical Features: DICOM presets and a Medical Imaging Calibrator (pending FDA clearance, expected soon in the U.S.).
- Audio & Mic: Same three‑mic array and six‑speaker system as the standard Studio Display.
- Connectivity: Thunderbolt 5 ports with daisy‑chain capability.
- Stand: Height‑adjustable in addition to tilt.
- Glass Options: Standard or nano‑texture glass.
