Apple Vision Pro gets an official YouTube app

Apple’s augmented reality headset is finally receiving a native YouTube app. The app is now available on the App Store for anyone who owns an M2 or M5 Apple Vision Pro device.

With the YouTube app, you can watch videos in a theater‑like virtual environment, with full access to playlists, Shorts, and all other YouTube features. M5 Vision Pro owners can also view videos in 8K resolution—if the content exists in that format.

Previously, users could only watch YouTube via the Safari browser, which offered a limited experience. While the lack of a native app didn’t determine the overall success of Vision Pro, its absence was noticeable, especially amid recent reports of poor sales for the device. At least now, Vision Pro owners can enjoy 8K YouTube videos directly within the headset.
