Apple Vision Pro finally gets a YouTube app today
Source: Engadget
Overview
Apple’s Vision Pro is a curious product — it initially wowed me two years ago, but the visionOS platform felt incomplete without dedicated apps for YouTube and Netflix. Google has now launched a YouTube app on Vision Pro today: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/id6745572359.
Previously, YouTube could only be accessed via Safari or through third‑party apps like Tubular Pro.
YouTube Vision Pro App Features
According to an Apple representative, the YouTube Vision Pro app includes:
- Every video on the service, including Shorts
- 360° video
- 3D content
- VR 180 content
I haven’t tried it yet, but it should be far more usable than navigating YouTube’s desktop site with finger gestures.
Context
Google is currently spinning up its Android XR ecosystem (Engadget article), making the Vision Pro a natural platform for its services.
There are also rumors of a cheaper “Vision Air” model possibly arriving next year (Engadget speculation).

Your move, Netflix.
