Apple is Getting Rid of iTunes Wish Lists, Here’s How to Save Yours

What’s happening?

Apple is planning to remove iTunes Wish Lists for movies and TV shows. Customers are receiving emails that include a PDF listing the items on their current wish list. The email explains that users can tap each link, then tap the “+” button to add the item to their Apple TV watchlist.

Why the change?

  • Since iOS 17.2, the Apple TV app has become the sole place to purchase TV shows and movies on iOS devices, replacing the old iTunes purchase flow.
  • Apple initially removed wish lists without notice, which prompted complaints. The feature was briefly reinstated in iOS 17.3, but Apple is now retiring it again—this time with advance notification.

How to save your wish list

  1. Open the email Apple sent you and view the attached PDF.
  2. Click on a title you want to keep.
  3. In the Apple TV app, tap the “+” button to add the item to your watchlist.
  4. Repeat for each title you wish to retain.

Make sure to complete this process before Apple fully disables the wish‑list feature.
