Android 17 Beta 2 just dropped for Pixel testers

Overview
This week may be Samsung’s time in the spotlight with the launch of the Galaxy S26 series, but Google is not about to let us forget about its own Pixel phones. Not even two weeks after the initial release of Android 17 Beta 1, Google is already following up with Android 17 Beta 2.
Supported Devices
Android 17 continues to be supported on the Pixel 6 and newer handsets, as well as Google’s foldables and the Pixel Tablet.
New Features in Beta 2
EyeDropper API
A new system API that lets apps perform color‑matching on screen content without compromising privacy. The EyeDropper was first reported last fall in our coverage of the EyeDropper color picker, but it wasn’t functional at the time.
Bubbles Windowing Mode
A refreshed “Bubbles” windowing mode designed for larger Android screens, especially useful on foldables:

Android 17 Contacts Picker
Google confirms the arrival of the new Android 17 Contacts Picker, which was first hinted at in an early preview back in November.
Under‑the‑hood Improvements
- Enhanced touchpad support.
- Better time‑zone handling.
