Amazon Photos challenges Google Photos with fresh redesign
Source: Android Authority

Overview
Amazon has rolled out a redesign for its Photos app. The update introduces a curated carousel of memories at the top of the screen, brings “On This Day” to the carousel, and adds natural‑language search for easier photo discovery.
New Features
Curated Carousel
When you open the app, the initial view is now a carousel that automatically selects memorable photos and videos, so you don’t have to dig through your archive.
“On This Day” Relocation
The “On This Day” feature, which surfaces photos and videos taken on the same date in previous years, is now accessible directly from the carousel.
Natural‑Language Search
You can search for images using everyday phrases such as “kids playing in the snow,” similar to Google Photos’ Ask Photos feature.
Availability
The redesign has been released for iOS. An Android version is planned, but no specific rollout date has been announced.
