Amazon is further scaling back its gaming efforts by ending its publishing deal for an upcoming open‑world racing title from Maverick Games, a studio formed by former Forza developers. The deal, originally announced in 2024, will no longer see Amazon acting as the publisher.

This move follows Amazon’s broader retreat from the gaming industry after years of attempts to establish a foothold. During the mass layoffs last year, the company announced it would exit the MMO space and concentrate on party games and its Luna streaming service. Recent changes have included offloading the multiplatform development initiatives.
