Advice to become a Software Engineer

Background

Hello everyone! I hope you’re all starting 2026 strong!

Current Situation

I have been working as a Salesforce Developer for the last three years. About a month ago I was laid off and have been job hunting, mainly applying for Salesforce Dev roles. These jobs are very limited or selective, so I have been thinking about focusing my career on becoming a Software Engineer since I am also interested in that kind of role (I find coding very fun and stressful lol).

I am self‑taught in the coding world, which has been challenging. Right now I want to pivot my career more toward Software Engineering.

Learning Progress

I am currently learning Python and MCPs (slowly, but we keep going).

Request for Advice

If anyone has advice or recommendations for a good course or bootcamp, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you so much in advance, and apologies if my typing is weird—English is my second language 😬.
