이번 사업은 화학·생물학적 위협에 대한 군의 대응 역량 강화를 목표로 추진되는 국방 분야 핵심 과제다. 팜클이 개발하는 분말형 급속제독제는 화학작용제에 오염된 군 장비나 작전 지역에 살포해 독성을 신속히 중화하는 고성능 제독제다. 물이 없는 환경에서도 즉시 사용이 가능하며, 휴대성을 높여 야전 운용 효율성을 강화한 것이 특징이다.
- 해당 제독제는 방위산업 분류상 화생방 무기체계 방어 분야에 속한다. 직접적인 공격 무기는 아니지만, 화학 공격 상황에서 아군의 인명과 장비를 보호하는 방어 자산으로 활용된다.

전찬민 대표는 “이번 계약은 자사의 방역 기술이 국방 분야 기술력으로 인정받은 사례”라며, 국방과학연구소 등 유관 기관과 협력해 화생방 방어 분야 경쟁력을 강화하겠다고 밝혔다.
