Overview
After releasing a feature to detect and label AI‑generated videos, YouTube has introduced Your custom feed. This new tool lets you build personalized playlists based on your interests, hobbies, and daily routines simply by entering a text prompt. The generated feed can be pinned to the top of your homepage for quick access.
How to Use
- Tap the Your custom feed chip at the top of your home page.
- Enter a prompt describing the type of playlist you want.
Examples from Google:- “15‑minute HIIT workouts that don’t need any equipment and zero jumping”
- “Deep‑dive tech podcasts to learn more about using AI for work.”
- Edit the prompt anytime using the text box at the top of your custom feed to generate a new selection.
Comparison with Other Services
YouTube isn’t the first platform to offer AI‑driven playlist creation. Earlier this year, Spotify launched its Prompted Playlist tool for both music and podcasts:
Availability
The custom feed feature is currently rolling out to signed‑in viewers in the United States on mobile or desktop, in English. To use it, ensure that your YouTube search and watch history are enabled in your account settings.
