Xiaomi will introduce a new software update at this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC) that is reported to improve connectivity between its own devices and Apple products.
Alongside the debut of the Xiaomi 17 series, the HyperOS 3.1 update is said to include a new “iOS Bridge” for smoother cross‑platform interaction. According to GizChina, the features slated for the update include:
Features
- iPhone call alerts – Incoming calls on an iPhone appear on connected Xiaomi tablets and PCs, allowing users to answer or manage calls without having the iPhone in hand.
- Enhanced AirPods integration – AirPods show battery levels and offer richer controls on Xiaomi devices, similar to their native behavior with Apple hardware.
- Direct file sharing between iPhone and Xiaomi – A fast, wireless transfer feature that enables file sharing between iPhones and Xiaomi devices without relying on third‑party apps.
If these features debut in Barcelona during MWC (March 2–5), they would represent a notable win for users who own an iPhone and AirPods alongside a Xiaomi phone, laptop, or tablet. In 2025, Xiaomi held a 16 % share of the European smartphone market, according to Omdia.
