Why “Feedback” Matters More Than Power in Everyday Tech

Feedback Over Performance

Most consumer tech focuses on performance: faster, stronger, bigger numbers.
But some of the best products I’ve used recently focus on something else entirely — feedback.

Smart Toothbrush Example

What the BrushO AI Shows

After brushing, the app displays:

  • How evenly you brushed
  • Whether you used too much pressure
  • A simple score that’s easy to track over time

No chart overload. No complicated setup. Just information you can actually use.

Benefits Observed

  • Less gum irritation
  • More even brushing coverage
  • Fewer rushed sessions

What I like most is that it doesn’t try to change your routine. You brush the same way — it just quietly helps you improve.

Reward System

Instead of pushing subscriptions, it rewards consistency. Keep brushing, earn points, and eventually get free replacement brush heads. It feels fair — and way less annoying than reminders to “buy more.”

Good tech doesn’t need to shout. Sometimes, it just needs to show you what you’re missing.
