Liquid Glass still largely unavailable in WhatsApp’s official app

Last year, WhatsApp began testing an early adaptation of the Liquid Glass look, bringing it to the app’s bottom navigation bar and some elements of the Chats tab interface.

In early October, WABetaInfo reported that the new look was starting to roll out to some users, but the rollout appears to have been slower than expected, with most users still not seeing the updated interface.

Even so, Meta has continued expanding the Liquid Glass redesign across the WhatsApp beta available on TestFlight. Earlier this year, for instance, the voice message player was updated with the new look. Now, WABetaInfo reports that the company is working to bring the design to the entire in‑chat screen.

Despite not yet being available to beta testers, WABetaInfo managed to activate the new interface, which includes a floating chat bar and a semi‑transparent navigation bar with subtle depth, shadow, and blur effects.

While it may add to the anticipation of WhatsApp users still frustrated by the lack of access to the revamped look, the update also shows that Meta is continuing to work on the visual overhaul and may be holding off on a broader rollout until more of the app has been updated to align with the Liquid Glass design.

As is the case with beta features—especially those only referenced in code—there is no telling when it will actually be released officially.
