New Health Ring Launch
Wearables startup CUDIS is launching its newest series of health rings this week. The updated ring comes equipped with a number of features, including an AI “agent coach” designed to keep users on track to attain their fitness goals.
AI Agent Coach
The ring’s AI Agent Coach leverages generative AI to create personalized health programs. It generates tailored daily tasks, recovery protocols, supplement recommendations, and can provide direct referrals to licensed medical professionals. The AI monitors trends such as chronic poor sleep, declining HRV, and elevated resting heart rate, then suggests lifestyle changes or connects users to appropriate care.
Incentivized Healthy Behavior
CUDIS differentiates itself by offering a points system that rewards healthy behaviors. Users earn digital “health points” for activities like:
- Daily sleep
- Reaching 10,000 steps
- Sports activities
- Interacting with the AI coach
These points can be redeemed through an integrated marketplace for discounts on health supplements and other products.
Health Metrics and Pace of Aging
The ring tracks a range of body metrics and daily behaviors, including:
- Sleep quality
- Stress management
- Movement
- Recovery
CUDIS uses this data to calculate a “Pace of Aging” (PoA), indicating whether a user’s body is aging faster or slower than their chronological age.
Company Performance
CUDIS CEO and co‑founder Edison Chen told TechCrunch that since the company’s first wearable launched in 2024, it has sold over 30,000 units across its first two models. The app’s user base has grown to 250,000 users in 103 countries.
“Our strongest markets so far have been North America, Europe, and Asia,” Chen said. “What we’re good at is pattern recognition for healthy people trying to optimize.”
Security
The company claims that user data is encrypted and secured via the Solana blockchain. It has previously been described as a “web3 AI wellness company.” (TechCrunch was not able to test the smart ring directly to verify its security claims.)
Funding and Future Plans
CUDIS announced $5 million of seed funding in 2024. The round was led by Draper Associates and included investors such as Skybridge, DraperDragon, Monke Ventures, and Foresight Ventures.
The company also plans to launch a Kickstarter campaign for a new product: the CUDIS Sporty Ring – the first smart ring you can style and earn with. More details are available on the Kickstarter page.
