As spotted by The Verge, US TikTok is experiencing renewed service issues after a second Oracle outage in just over a month, with users facing delays and lag while posting content. Here are the details.

Not a great start for the new ownership

According to the TikTok USDS Joint Venture account on X, “an issue with an Oracle data center is impacting some parts of the TikTok U.S. user experience.”

Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure System Status page confirms an ongoing outage at its US East (Ashburn) data center, which started at around 8:24 a.m. ET.

Since then, the page has published more than a dozen status updates, and currently states:

“We are continuing to investigate an issue with Oracle Cloud Network Infrastructure in the US East (Ashburn) region. Oracle engineers are currently taking steps to improve network stability in efforts to enable further progress toward impact mitigation.”

As US TikTok users know, this is the second major service disruption since TikTok USDS and its Oracle‑backed joint venture took over the Chinese platform’s US operations in January.

Oracle’s account on X says that the company is “working quickly to restore normal service operations.” Updates will be posted once service is fully restored.
