Apple CEO Tim Cook is making the rounds in Washington, D.C. this week, just days after Apple announced its CEO transition plan. This fall, John Ternus will become Apple CEO with Cook remaining active as Executive Chairman of the Board.
Tim Cook will remain a regular in Washington, D.C. after stepping down from Apple CEO role this fall
In his capacity as Executive Chairman, Apple says that the outgoing CEO will remain active in interfacing with policymakers around the world. Cook’s visit to Washington this week is both a preview of what’s to come and a continuation of his work over the past decade and a half.
White House appearance
Cook was reported to be at the White House as President Trump welcomed the King and Queen of the United Kingdom. Later that day, King Charles III addressed the United States Congress, and Cook was expected to be in attendance.
Meeting with the U.S. Department of Commerce
On Monday, Cook met with Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo (referred to as “Lutnick” in the original tweet) at the U.S. Department of Commerce.
