Concerns

While the strategy of meeting Gen Z and Gen Alpha where they already spend time and money is understandable, there is unease about turning a real‑world thrift store—often a lifeline for low‑income families—into a gamified aesthetic inside a video game. Even if proceeds support rehabilitation and community programs, a thrift store is more than a quirky brand concept; it provides essential support for many people. Packaging that reality as entertainment creates a disconnect that is hard to ignore.
