Next week will be big for the Mac, with several new MacBooks launching. But another key moment is around the corner: Crimson Desert, a AAA game, debuts next month with a day‑one macOS release.

Crimson Desert arrives March 19 on macOS alongside PC, PS5, and more

Gaming on the Mac has long trailed the PC market, with many AAA titles either not getting macOS versions at all, or shipping much later than on other platforms.
But there’s one big exception coming next month.

Release details

  • Date: March 19
  • Platforms: macOS (day‑one), PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and more
  • Genre: Open‑world action‑adventure
  • Developer: Pearl Abyss

The game has become one of the most anticipated titles of the year.

Pre‑order information

You can pre‑order Crimson Desert now on Steam at:

  • Standard edition: $69.99
  • Deluxe edition: $79.99

Apple’s support

Last summer, Apple announced that Crimson Desert would be coming to the Mac as part of a lineup of nine big new debuts.
The announcement highlighted that the game would “leverage powerful software technologies like MetalFX Upscaling to accelerate performance and deliver high‑quality visuals, as well as take advantage of the M3 and M4 family of chips with ray tracing for a breathtaking experience.”

Considering Apple has featured the title in the past, it wouldn’t be surprising to see it showcased again next week as part of the M5 Pro and M5 Max unveiling.
