Jason Momoa will be playing the lead in the forthcoming film adaptation of the Helldivers gaming franchise, according to Variety. The games don’t have a story‑driven protagonist, so Momoa is likely to portray a currently unnamed soldier. Sony hasn’t announced any other actors who will be joining Momoa.

Release Date

The Helldivers film is scheduled to open on November 10, 2027.

• Director: Justin Lin – known for several entries in the Fast & Furious franchise and Star Trek Beyond.
• Screenwriter: Gary Dauberman – wrote It and It Chapter Two as well as the Annabelle horror series. He is primarily known for horror, so his approach to high‑octane science fiction remains to be seen.
