Spotify Now Plays Personal Podcasts Generated by Your AI Agent
Source: MacRumors
Overview
Spotify has launched a new feature that lets users save AI‑generated audio briefings called Personal Podcasts directly to their Spotify library. The feature works via a command‑line tool for desktop that integrates with AI coding agents such as OpenAI’s Codex and Anthropic’s Claude Code.
How it works
- Install the Save to Spotify CLI from GitHub.
- Sign in with your Spotify account.
- Prompt the AI agent to generate a custom audio piece (e.g., a daily news digest, a study guide from class notes, or a weekly itinerary).
The generated audio appears alongside music and regular podcasts in Your Library.
Use cases
- Morning briefing that flags upcoming meetings, checks the weather, and recommends a commute podcast.
- Summaries of class notes before an exam.
- Briefings of calendar events.
- A progressively deeper audio series built from saved articles and personal notes for learning a new subject.
Availability
- The feature is in beta but available worldwide to eligible Free and Premium subscribers.
- Spotify notes usage limits during the testing period.
Claude integration
Claude integration lets users connect their Spotify account to the chatbot and ask for personalized music and podcast recommendations directly within a conversation.
