Sonos has faced a challenging couple of years, but with a new CEO and a revamped app, the company is refocusing on its core products. Two new speakers are being introduced: the $300 Play and the $189 Era 100 SL. The Play is aimed at users who want a portable system that integrates with an existing Sonos setup and can also be used outside the home.
Sonos Play

The Play combines Wi‑Fi connectivity for whole‑home use with Bluetooth for true portability, offering up to 24 hours of playback on a single charge. It’s IP67‑rated, includes a removable loop for easy carrying, and ships with a wireless‑charging base that can also charge a smartphone.
Design and Connectivity
- Wi‑Fi for multi‑room and stereo setups.
- Bluetooth with up to three additional Play or Move 2 units that can be grouped together.
- Removable carrying loop.
- Wireless charging base included.
Audio and Controls
- Three Class‑H digital amplifiers.
- Two angled tweeters and one mid‑woofer.
- Far‑field microphone for voice commands.
- Physical buttons on the top for easy control.
Era 100 SL

The Era 100 SL is a lower‑priced variant of the existing Era 100, priced at $189. It drops the built‑in microphone to reduce cost while still delivering the same high‑quality sound. Sonos positions it as a more accessible entry point into its ecosystem.
Both speakers are available for pre‑order now ahead of a March 31 release date.
