Solo Dev Needs Android Testers: Built a Focus Timer and a Noise Logger

Overview

I’m a solo developer working on two small Android utility apps, but Google Play requires 12 testers who stay opted‑in for 14 days before an app can be published to production. I currently have only myself as a tester, so I need 11 more.

• Measures and logs ambient noise levels using the phone’s microphone.
• Handy for finding the quietest spot in a coffee shop, documenting noise for a landlord complaint, or simply tracking how loud your environment gets throughout the day.

Why This Matters

Google’s 12‑tester requirement is meant to filter out spam apps, which makes sense. However, for solo developers without a large network, it becomes a real bottleneck. If you’ve experienced this yourself, you know the frustration.
