Samsung is preparing to unleash Now Brief across your home
Source: Android Authority

TL;DR
- Samsung plans to expand its Now Brief feature to TVs and Family Hub refrigerators.
- When set up in advance, it will activate as you approach the TV, touch the refrigerator screen, or open/close the fridge door.
- Samsung is also rolling out Call to Care, a feature that lets you check the status of someone with a phone call.
Now Brief debuted on the Galaxy S25 series last year and has since rolled out across the Galaxy family. Samsung is now extending the service beyond phones into the living room and kitchen.
Home‑wide rollout
Samsung announced that Now Brief will soon be available on:
- Samsung TVs launched in 2024 or later.
- Family Hub refrigerators launched in 2021 or later.
Availability will depend on product model, region, and each device’s Over‑The‑Network (OTN) software‑update schedule.

When the feature arrives, you won’t need to launch it manually. If configured beforehand, Now Brief will automatically trigger when you:
- Approach the TV.
- Touch the refrigerator’s screen.
- Open or close the refrigerator door.
Expanded capabilities
- Home device status – view energy usage and sleep information.
- Security updates – receive alerts from door locks, sensors, and security mode.
- Family insights – see parents’ daily activity updates.
- Pet‑care info – get dog‑walking details.
New phone feature: Care on Call
Care on Call helps you stay informed about a care recipient (e.g., an elderly parent). When you place a call, a pop‑up appears before the call connects, showing:
- Time of the first activity of the day.
- Most recent activity time.
- Local weather.
Additional SmartThings updates
- Safety Patrol – users can now dispatch a robot vacuum equipped with a camera to check the house if a care recipient’s activity isn’t detected within a set period.
- Care Insight – provides more actionable, long‑term data, including temperature, humidity, significant changes in activity levels, and connected‑device usage.
