Samsung expands One UI 8.5 beta to much older flagships and budget phones

One UI 8.5 Beta Expansion
Samsung is preparing to roll out the stable version of its latest One UI 8.5 software experience and is simultaneously widening the beta program to more devices. After recently opening the beta for the Galaxy S24 and the sixth and seventh generations of its foldables, Samsung is now adding older flagships and its first budget A‑series phones.
Galaxy S23 series
According to tipster Tarun Vats on X, the One UI 8.5 beta is now available for the Galaxy S23 series. In addition to South Korea, the beta is also live in India, suggesting a broader regional rollout soon.
Galaxy A series
The beta is also coming to the Galaxy A36, with the program live in India. This marks the first One UI 8.5 beta release for older Galaxy A‑series phones. Apart from the A36, the only other A‑series devices currently running the beta are the newly launched Galaxy A37 and Galaxy A57.
Upcoming beta candidates
Samsung is reportedly preparing beta releases for:
- Galaxy A56, Galaxy A55, and Galaxy A35
- Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5
These devices are expected to receive the One UI 8.5 beta in the near future.
