Samsung confirms RAM and material costs behind Galaxy S26 price hike

Samsung’s COO of its mobile business, Won‑Joon Choi, told The Verge that the memory shortage alone made a significant contribution to the higher price of the Galaxy S26 and S26 Plus. While rising material costs, tariffs, and other factors also played a role, the shortage of RAM was a key driver of the roughly $100 price increase over the previous generation.
