Samsung can’t stop leaking its upcoming foldables in One UI 9
Source: Android Authority

TL;DR
- Images of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Wide Fold have been found in Samsung’s One UI 9 software.
- The Wide Fold image matches leaked renders and reveals the phone’s rear cover.
- The Galaxy Z Fold 8 image looks largely identical to the Z Fold 7.
We’re expecting Samsung to launch the Galaxy Z Fold 8 in the second half of the year, and the company is also working on a “Wide Fold” device. Leaked specs and unofficial renders have circulated for both phones, and Samsung’s own software now provides a preview.
Wide Fold Image
A build of Samsung’s One UI 9 reveals an image of the Wide Fold (codenamed H8) that aligns with unofficial renders. The device features:
- A stubby overall design.
- A rear‑camera bump similar to the Galaxy S25 Edge.
- A squat cover display.
This isn’t the first time the Wide Fold has appeared in One UI 9; a February discovery showed a Wide Fold animation, though that animation didn’t display the rear cover.
Galaxy Z Fold 8 Image
The same One UI 9 build also contains an image of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 (codenamed Q8). The phone appears virtually identical to the Galaxy Z Fold 7, matching earlier leaked renders. However, leaks suggest the Z Fold 8 will receive:
- A 5,000 mAh battery.
- 45 W wired charging.
These upgrades indicate the Z Fold 8 may not be a purely cosmetic refresh.
Launch Window
There’s no official launch date yet, but Samsung traditionally unveils its new foldable phones in July. Expect more leaks in the coming months leading up to the announcement.
