RPM and DNF in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10.1
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10.1 (RHEL) features significant updates to RPM and DNF, two technologies designed to help you manage software installs and updates.
RPM
- The RPM package manager creates installation files used to install and uninstall an application, and it can be queried for information about what libraries and binaries the application contains.
DNF
- DNF is the command‑line tool used on RHEL to search for available applications, and then to install, update, or uninstall them.
Enhancements
These components are critical to a computer system, so Red Hat has worked hard to improve them. Improvements include enhancements to RPM signature handling and other under‑the‑hood updates.
