After exploring the bigger market for productivity tablets featuring color displays with the Paper Pro and the smaller Paper Pro Move, E‑Ink tablet maker reMarkable is returning to its roots with a new monochrome device called the Paper Pure.

The $399 Paper Pure succeeds the monochrome reMarkable 2 after six years, offering more powerful hardware and modern software features that keep it competitive in today’s tablet market.

Design and Display

  • Screen: 10.3‑inch E‑Ink display (same diagonal size as the reMarkable 2) but slightly wider, which the company says makes note‑taking and reading easier.
  • Resolution: 1872 × 1404 px (226 PPI), unchanged from the previous model.
  • Weight: 360 g, about 40 g lighter than the reMarkable 2.
