Proton VPN’s latest update gives you more control over where your data goes
Source: Android Authority

TL;DR
- Proton VPN now lets users avoid connecting to specific locations.
- The Exclude locations option is available in the latest Android app.
- The feature is not yet available on Windows or iOS.
New “Exclude locations” feature
Proton VPN has added a setting that lets you choose countries (or even cities) you don’t want your traffic routed through. This gives you finer control over where your data ends up, which is useful if you’re concerned about local privacy laws or content restrictions.
The option works with Proton’s Random and Fastest connection modes. Previously, you could only switch servers after a connection was already established; now you can proactively block unwanted locations.
How to enable
- Open the Proton VPN Android app.
- Go to Settings → Connection Preferences.
- Tap Exclude locations and select the countries or cities you wish to block.
Availability
- The feature is included in version 5.15.70.0 of the Proton VPN Android app, available on the Google Play Store.
- It has not yet been released for iOS or Windows.
