Compatibility

The GeForce Now app is now available as a native application for select Amazon Fire TV sticks. It works on:

  • Fire TV Stick 4K Plus (2nd‑gen) – requires Fire OS 8.1.6.0 or later
  • Fire TV Stick 4K Max (2nd‑gen) – requires Fire OS 8.1.6.0 or later
  • Fire TV Stick 4K Max (original) – requires Fire OS 7.7.1.1 or later

Performance

On Fire TV, GeForce Now streams at a maximum of 1080p resolution and 60 fps, using SDR visuals, H.264 video encoding, and stereo audio. This is lower than the service’s top tier, which can reach up to 5K resolution, 360 fps, HDR10, and 7.1‑channel audio. A compatible controller is required for gameplay.

Announcement

NVIDIA announced the Fire TV app at CES last month. The addition brings GeForce Now alongside other cloud‑gaming options on the platform, such as Xbox Cloud Gaming (which also offers PC Game Pass titles) and Amazon Luna.
