Overview
Following up on its first over‑ear headphones released last year, Nothing has just announced Headphone (a) as a more affordable option with added colors and, somehow, longer battery life too.
Nothing Headphone (1) was the brand’s first foray beyond earbuds and into over‑ear headphones. In our review we found them to be a solid option, especially for the price, with good active noise cancellation and great battery life.
What’s new with Nothing Headphone (a)?
- Price: Starts at $199 (down from $299).
- Weight: Reduced to 310 g.
- Battery life: Up to 135 hours with ANC off (versus 80 hours on Headphone 1).
- Controls: Same roller, paddle, and button layout. The button can now act as a remote trigger for the camera on a connected phone via the Nothing X app.
- Audio features: Adaptive ANC (up to 40 dB with two fewer microphones), wireless hi‑res audio, LDAC support, and Google Fast Pair on Android.
- Drivers: 40 mm drivers, but without KEF tuning.
- AI‑powered Dynamic Bass Enhancement: Designed to deliver deeper bass, targeting the preferences of a younger audience.
