Nimbus v0.4.0-alpha: 10 New Features to streamline your Laravel API workflow
Source: Dev.to

A few months ago I shared Nimbus, a Laravel‑aware API client that lives inside your app and “auto‑magically” understands your routes and validation rules so you don’t have to set them up manually in Postman or similar tools. It offers unique capabilities such as making requests as the currently logged‑in user and decrypting cookies.
New Features
Transaction Mode
Toggle Transaction Mode on and Nimbus automatically rolls back any database changes, keeping your data clean.
Shareable Links
Generate a link that pre‑loads the exact headers and payload for teammates (and vice‑versa).
Auto‑selecting Dynamic Sections on Click
Click a dynamic route segment (e.g., an ID) to auto‑select the whole segment. The selection is remembered, so clicking again after changing the value re‑selects the segment for quick replacement.
OpenAPI Schema Support
Feed an OpenAPI spec to Nimbus. It retains the “Nimbus magic” while using your spec as the source of truth, reconciling missing routes automatically for friction‑free developer experience.
Dump and Die Responses
Nimbus now catches dump()/dd() output and renders it in a clean, paginated viewer inside the UI.
Additional New Features
- Tabs Support
- Request History and Rewind
- Multi‑application Configuration Support
- Spatie Data Support
- UI Persistence

Note: Nimbus isn’t meant to replace automated test suites. Think of automated tests as your “safety net” for stability and regression protection. Nimbus is a developer‑focused playground for quickly interacting with your API—perfect for poking endpoints, verifying data types, or showing live payloads to frontend developers without boilerplate.
If you already use Postman, Insomnia, Hoppscotch, etc., you’ll likely find Nimbus a valuable addition to your Laravel workflow.
Would love your feedback!
